Linklease supports clean energy by partnering with leading UAE biodiesel producer
DUBAI, February 03, 2015 – Linklease, the region’s leading SME leasing business has partnered with a major biodiesel producer to support their ambition of continuing to build the UAE’s foundation for a clean energy economy.
The partnership includes a four year sale and lease-back agreement on specialist, state-of-the-art biodiesel processors. Valued at AED 1.17 million, the equipment converts used cooking oil into high-performing, low-carbon biodiesel. It is then sold to a broad range of clients across sectors including food and beverages, construction and government, helping them to reduce their carbon footprint.
Steve Williams, Chief Executive Officer, Linklease said, “Biodiesel is the energy of the future and we are proud to help advance its use here in the UAE by partnering with one of the country’s leading producers.”
“For our newest client, it represents an opportunity to unlock the value of their biodiesel processing equipment, freeing up capital to invest in other parts of their expanding business. For us, it demonstrates our commitment to supporting even the most niche industries, businesses and equipment needs.”
To harness the environmental benefits of biodiesel, in February 2015, Dubai became the first city in the world to use it for all municipality vehicles. This decision was underpinned by the mandate from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote fuel efficiency and create a truly sustainable city within the next three decades.
Linklease is the Middle East’s leading SME equipment leasing company.
